For the first six months of 2011 Japan has been visited by 2.833 million tourists, which is by 32.6% less compared with the same period in 2010, the National Organization for the country’s tourism (JNTO).

In March, the decline of number of tourist was 50.3% compared to the first spring month of 2010, in April – 62.5%, in May – 50%.

In Kanagawa prefecture in Japan, tea party has been revoked. This is due to the fact that an increased radiation background was detected in tea leaves.

1 kg of tea leaves, which were grown near the town of Minamiasigara, contained 570 Becquerel of cesium while the normal rate is 500 Becquerel, the agency France-Presse reported.
